In spring 2011 FAE reported the following story: Film maker Nicole Cattell is planning to shoot a documentary film about mermaids. She is looking for funding and an executive producer. Nicole told FAE, “I became interested in mermaids after I found a Haitian Voudou flag of a mermaid in New Orleans. Free diving mermaid, Hannah Stacey from Cornwall was the body double for Kelly Brook in the fantasy movie, Fishtales. Hannah wore a full custom made mermaid outfit when she did the advanced diving tricks for Kelly’s stunts. Top underwater photographer, Candice, captured Hanna’s underwater antics during a glamorous mermaid photo shoot. Candace is an active supporter of the fresh2o clean water campaign. In the debut issue of FAE magazine (in 2007) It was discovered that Kelly Brook’s body double in ‘Fishtails’ was played by ‘free-diving’ mermaid Hannah Stacey from Cornwall. Fishtales, the movie starred Kelly Brook as Nereid, a beautiful and enchanting mermaid who sacrifices her immortality to become a human being after falling in love with History professor Dirk (Billy Zane).
